Three Rivers Therapy Named Second Place Among Tri-Cities Best Mental Health Facilities

Community recognition follows continued growth in outpatient, youth, and community-based services across Benton and Franklin counties

KENNEWICK, WA, UNITED STATES, September 1, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Three Rivers Therapy has been named second place for Best Mental Health Facility in the 2026 Tri-Cities Best awards, the Tri-City Herald’s community-voted recognition program covering Kennewick, Pasco, Richland, and the surrounding communities.

Tri-Cities Best recognizes the top three finishers in each category, with placements determined entirely by public voting. The recognition reflects feedback from the people the agency serves and works alongside, including clients and families, referral partners, and neighbors throughout Benton and Franklin counties.

“This one means something because of who decides it,” said Ryan Moore, Chief Executive Officer of Three Rivers Therapy. “There is no panel and no application. People in the Tri-Cities took the time to vote, and a lot of them were our clients. Our staff earned that in ordinary moments that never get written up anywhere. A call returned the same day, a family seen faster than they expected, a clinician who stayed late because it mattered.”

A Full Range of Behavioral Health Services
Three Rivers Therapy provides behavioral health care to children, adolescents, adults, and families from its Kennewick location at 10505 W. Clearwater Avenue. Services include:
• Outpatient therapy for anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and behavioral health needs in children and adolescents.
• Psychiatric medication management, including evaluation, prescribing, and ongoing monitoring, coordinated directly with the client’s therapist.
• Wraparound with Intensive Services (WISe), Washington’s intensive, team-based program for Medicaid-eligible youth with complex needs, delivered in the home, at school, and in the community rather than in a clinic.
• Peer respite, offering short-term, peer-supported stays for individuals in crisis as an alternative to hospitalization.
• Foundational Community Supports (FCS), Washington’s Medicaid benefit for supported employment and supportive housing, helping eligible individuals find and keep stable housing and meaningful work.

The agency serves clients with Washington Apple Health (Medicaid) coverage as well as many commercial insurance plans, and offers bilingual services.

Rooted in the Community
Three Rivers Therapy has served the Tri-Cities for ten years, building working relationships with the schools, medical providers, and community organizations that families turn to first. School staff, pediatricians, and community partners refer families who need more support than a single appointment can provide, and the agency’s teams meet those families in their homes, at school, and in the community.

“Behavioral health work does not exclusively happen in a clinic,” Moore said. “It also happens in schools, at kitchen tables, in the places where people already are. Ten years in a community teaches you that you are only as useful as the partners who trust you enough to send someone your way. Being recognized by this community is a reminder that the relationship goes both ways.”

Growing With the Region
The Tri-Cities has been among the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in Washington for more than a decade, adding residents at roughly twice the statewide pace over the past five years. State projections call for Benton and Franklin counties to add tens of thousands more residents by 2030.

Behavioral health demand has grown with it. More residents means more people seeking a first therapy appointment, more youth needing intensive support, and more families trying to find a prescriber. Three Rivers Therapy has expanded its clinical capacity in response, adding staff across outpatient therapy, medication management, WISe, peer respite, and Foundational Community Supports.

“Access is the whole problem,” Moore said. “You can have the best clinicians in the world, and it does not help a family that cannot get an appointment for four months. A region growing this fast needs its behavioral health capacity to grow with it. Our job is to keep adding capacity so that the answer is yes more often than it is a waitlist.”

Hiring in the Tri-Cities
Three Rivers Therapy is actively recruiting across its Kennewick service lines, with openings for therapists, psychiatric prescribers, care coordinators, peer support specialists, and administrative staff.

The agency is looking for people with a genuine commitment to this community and to the populations it serves, and who want a place to keep getting better at the work. That means real clinical supervision rather than a signature at the end of the month, ongoing training and consultation, and concrete support toward licensure and advancement.

“The clinicians who do well here are ambitious about the work itself,” Moore said. “They want supervision that sharpens their clinical judgment, and they want to see a path in front of them. We are growing, which means supervisory and program leadership roles open up, and we intend to fill them from inside wherever we can. We are also honest that not everyone’s path ends with us. If someone spends four good years here and then opens a private practice, we did our job. What we will not do is treat community behavioral health as a waystation. It is a career, and the people who choose it deserve to be developed like it.”
