FieldWare, a leading provider of software solutions for the justice and public safety markets, today announced two key executive appointments that reflect the company’s continued growth. Mary Friel, formerly Chief Financial Officer, has been promoted to President. Leslie DeLatte, formerly President of Orion Communications, has been appointed Chief Technology Officer.
The appointments come as FieldWare continues to build on its acquisition of Orion Communications, LLC a Dallas-based operational workforce management SaaS provider serving public safety agencies. With the integration complete, the company is solidifying its executive structure to support both existing customers and continued expansion across community supervision, law enforcement, and fire and rescue markets.
Prior to Fieldware Mary worked at technology investment firm Runway Growth and KPMG. In her time at FieldWare, she has been central to scaling the company’s operations, integrating the Orion acquisition, and building the financial and operational infrastructure needed to support the integrated and growing company. As President, she will oversee day-to-day operations across the combined business and partner closely with the CEO on company strategy, customer delivery, and continued growth.
“FieldWare has an extraordinary mission and an even more extraordinary group of people behind it,” said Mary Friel. “Stepping into the President role is an honor, and I’m committed to making sure every customer feels the support and reliability of our operations. We have important work ahead, and I’m energized by the team we have in place to continue building on the market leading brand and reputation that has been established over the last 20+ years.”
Leslie DeLatte brings more than two decades of experience building software for the public safety sector. As President of Orion Communications, she led the company’s growth into a trusted workforce management platform for federal, state, and local agencies, with a focus on automating scheduling, staffing, asset management, and training based on each customer’s policies. Since Orion joined FieldWare in late 2023, Leslie has played a key role in unifying the two product lines. As CTO, she will lead engineering, product architecture, and the technical roadmap across the full FieldWare suite.
“As CTO, my focus is on building technology that makes the jobs of the people we serve easier, safer, and more efficient,” said Leslie DeLatte. “That means deeper integration across our products, smarter automation, and a forward‑looking technology roadmap grounded in real‑world operations and close partnership with our customers. We are now at a point where we can serve more customers by providing a fully integrated, secure, GovCloud hosted solution.”
“Mary and Leslie are both proven leaders and having them in these roles gives FieldWare real depth in our executive leadership team,” said Scott Grundberg, CEO and founder of FieldWare. “Mary has been instrumental in building the operational foundation we’re now scaling on, and Leslie’s technical vision has shaped some of the most important work we’ve done since the Orion acquisition. I’ve watched both of them lead with the kind of customer-first mindset this company was built on, and I couldn’t be more confident in where we’re headed.”
